Research associate position in Bioinformatics / Computational biology
The strategic goal of our bioinformatics laboratory is the development of tools and data analysis strategies for the treatment of multi-omics large datasets. Those tools will be developed in the context of multi-omics research and biomarker signatures interpretation linked to biological knowledge. To meet these challenges, we are looking for a bioinformatician within the Computational Biology laboratory at the CRCHU of Quebec.
Responsibilities:
- Development of analytic strategies in the context of multi-Omics experiments, especially transcriptomics, genomics and proteomics
- Development of statistical models for the analysis of multi-Omics and heterogeneous data.
Qualifications:
- At least a master’s degree in bioinformatics
- Strong desire to work in the field of bioinformatics.
- Proven experience in bioinformatics or computational biology.
- Demonstrated experience in computer programming / data analysis
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of next generation sequencing data
- Experience in developing complex analysis designs
- High-performance computing experience
- Experience in managing pipelines on supercomputers
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (R, python or perl).
- Knowledge of a low-level programming language (C, C ++ or Java)
